Benefits of Reading Aloud to One Another

When my husband and I took our kids backpacking (long time ago), we used to bring one book to read aloud to each other. The shared storytelling was really fun. We asked questions and had discussions along the way.

While doing research recently, I found an article on Verily that backs up the benefits of how reading aloud can improve our relationships.

So that, combined with the memories of good times, caused me to suggest to my husband that he and I read aloud to each other.

So we are!

Taking a page from the woman I mentioned in my Wednesday post, we’re reading SAPIENS: A BRIEF HISTORY OF HUMANKIND by Yuval Noah Harari.

Do you read aloud with other people?
