Music is one of those human constructs that’s 99% positive and 99% intuitive.
Sure, there’s music that encourages bad behavior, but by and far, music is a haven where we can take solace and feel understood.
For me, what matters is the beat and mood. My mind immersion into those two facets means I rarely pay attention to the lyrics and never remember the name of the song or artist. It also means I stay away from sad songs when I’m sad!
My favorite genres are jazz, R&B and world.
