I’m off to Peru to hike the Salkantay route, which crosses the Abra Salkantay Pass, 15190 feet above sea level! We’ll see the Inca ruins of Llactapata and also Machu Picchu, a 15th-century Incan citadel.
Many archeologists believe the site was built as an estate for an Incan emperor. A literal king of the hill!
I’m really looking forward to filling up with new sights, sounds, smells and history. I come back from trips like this refreshed of mind and overflowing with new things to write about.
