Happy Birthday "The Falcon"!

Happy birthday to THE FALCON, THE WOLF AND THE HUMMINGBIRD! It launched three years ago and has aroused a lot of comments from women who identify with the protagonist, Pino, and see themselves as present day warriors, in one way or another.
I’m not Native American, but I am a huge fan and supporter of NA culture and women everywhere. I spent years researching the real tribal history of the Southern Connecticut area, making sure the three tribes involved reflect the behavior, dress and culture of their individual belief systems. Just as I researched the varied terrain — from salt marshes to bluffs — that made writing the battle scenes immensely challenging, but exciting.
Most of all I’m grateful to Pino, whom I love for fighting so hard against the demons that haunt her. When the chips are down, she faces them head on.
We women are strong in that way.
