Childhood Trauma: Reduce the Impact

A recent article in The Independent ran a headline that says it all:

Study finds trauma in childhood increases risk of health conditions later in life.

Here’s the thing: we all suffer from some kind of trauma during our youth, whether from bullying; being in an accident; losing parent; living through a war; or any million other reasons.

So the questions becomes, what can we do about it so we don’t carry the mind/body — what I call “mody” — stress?

My suggestion: if possible, take action. Reach out for help; explore new treatments; read books that help you see more clearly what happened and how it affected you.

We might not be able to erase a trauma, but we can decrease its power over us in order to live happier lives.
